Silo (silhouette) photos are the workhorse images of the e-commerce industry. They are the unsung heroes manning the front lines at the point-of-sale. However, they serve an incredibly important function: representing an item to the customer that they're unable to experience physically, in-person.
One image represents all duplicates of that item to be sold for years to come; "the face that launched a thousand ships" or, in this case, "the peach that sold a thousand peaches." While not as glamorous as lifestyle photography, the silo photo will, arguably be seen with more frequency and carry more weight than any single lifestyle image.
